Type Chinese on

navigate to your “Settings” menu.

Select “General”

Tap “Keyboard.”

Select “Keyboards” at the top
-
Click “Add New Keyboard…”

Scroll down and select “Chinese (Simplified)

Choose the “QWERTY” Pinyin layout or "handwriting"
If you are learning to write Chinese characters, installing "handwriting" will help you practice memorizing characters.

Navigate to “System Preferences.”

Select “Keyboard.”
-
Select “Input Sources.”

Click on the “+” at the bottom left of the window to add language.

Scroll down and select “Chinese (Simplified)” from the box on the left. In the box on the right, select “Pinyin – Simplified”

Select “Add.”

You’ll notice there’s an “A” symbol in your upper right menu bar. Press this button and select the “拼” symbol. Your Chinese keyboard is now activated.

In your Cortana box (system setting), type “Region.”

Go to “Region and Language Settings.”

Select “Add a Language.” Choose “Chinese Simplified > Chinese (Simplified, China)”

Select the available language pack.

Go to “Keyboards” and select “Add a Keyboard.” Choose the “Microsoft Pinyin” .

Select “Microsoft Bopomofo” as your preferred input method editor.

From the “Microsoft Bopomofo” menu, select “HanYu Pinyin.”

Close the “Settings” window.

On your Windows menu bar (bottom right of the screen), there’ll be a little keyboard icon. Click on this to switch between your Chinese and English keyboards.
Other PCs

Click on the "start" window button on the bottom left of the screen.

Click on "setting" icon (right above the power button)

In the search bar, type "language" and click on "edit language and keyboard options"

Under "preferred language", click on the "+ add a preferred language"

Choose Chinese Simplified (Pinyin)

You are set! It'll take a minute to load but you will be able to click on the bottom right corner that says "ENG" to switch back and forth from English and Chinese.

Click on the chrome logo to open the browser

on the top right corner of the browser, click on the button with 3 dots and choose "setting"

In the search bar, type in "languages " and wait five seconds for it to fully load

Under "language and input",
click on "Language", scroll down and click on "add languages", add Chinese (simplified) -
Click on "Input Method", click on "manage input methods", scroll down to "Chinese (simplified)" and tick the box for "Pinyin input method"

Scroll back up and click the arrow to go back to the previous pack

The last option under "Input method" is "Show input options in the shelf", remember to turn it on by swiping the button rightwards.

You are all set! Now when you click on the bottom right button that says "US", you'll see two keyboard choices.
