• Deal with absence proactively
   

• Take negative talk seriously
  "I'm never gonna be able to do that."
  "I'm failing this test."
  "I don't know anything."
  If you find yourself saying those words, you may be falling a little behind. Instead of just accepting the negative comments, take them as reminders that you should reach out to your teacher and seek help in catching up. Do not wait until those negative talks become a norm for you.
   

• Be a cheerleader for yourself and others
