Traditionally, Chinese characters are written with a brush pen onto paper.

Chinese calligraphy is a sophisticated art form that requires not only the knowledge of the characters, but also the skills of maneuvering the soft brush pen.

Ink used in Chinese calligraphy is usually in the form of liquid ink and ink stone, which can be ground with water to create ink. In the old days, ink stone is hugely popular as it is light-weight, small, easy to store after each use, and lasts a long time
