Create a Story

​

Step 1

Student writes a story in English. 

• around 500 words in English

• font: times new roman, size 12,  line space: double space

• name the main character and describe the character's age, nationality, appearance, personality, family, likes and dislikes

• write yourself into the story and create characters and plots

• create a coherent story with your characters

• refer to your textbook for inspiration

Step 2

Translate your story into Chinese.

• print out your English copy and go over your story

• replace all the English words that you are able to translate into Chinese with Chinese characters

• exchange with a fellow classmate and help each other find out words your are able to translate into Chinese

• send your draft to Mrs. Diamond and finish translating the rest with her help
  (be sure to mark pinyin for characters you do not recognize)

Step 3

Voice recording

• practice reading your Chinese story.

• record your story in English and then Chinese using the voice recording  links provided below

• send the recording file or the link generated to Mrs. Diamond through email.
  (You can also record on your cell phone and send it to Mrs. Diamond through email)
